Highlights of 2013
The Annual Mermaids Masters Golf Tournament at Pleasant Valley on the 7th December. Congratulations to the winners, Team Vephula, closely followed by Team Japan. You don’t need to be a professional to play in this competition, its open for anyone.
Koh Chang Wreck Diving Trip on 30th November. Divers of all certification levels and Mermaids Staff had 2 nights and 2 days away from the hustle and bustle, with some awesome wreck diving included. Keep an eye on our 2014 trip calendar for this trip.
Aqualung Service Technician Course on 30th October. A great course run by the experienced Aqualung team from Phuket. This course teaches you how to maintain and service the Aqualung Calypso Regulator first and second stages and Powerline Inflator.
Mermaids International Clean Up Day took place on the 15th and 21st September. This year the clean up took place over 2 days, with one of them an exclusive day for NIST school who were unable to make the main day. Great fun and lots of trash was collected by all.
Upgrades and Renovations at Mermaids completed. All vehicles were rewrapped, whilst the Jomtien Store had a makeover with awesome pictures of our local wrecks taking center place. An Aqualung wall was introduced, show casing their latest products. Mermaids Centara Store was opened at the Grand Mirage Centara Hotel in May 2013.
K Bank Customers Discover Scuba on 1st June. Over 100 Premier Card Holders from K Bank were treated to a Discover Scuba Day with Mermaids. Congratulations to all participants and those who enjoyed it so much, they went on to do the Open Water Diver Course.
Tec Xplorer Day on the 23rd March. When one tank is not enough, try diving with twins and sidemount. Join our Technical Team and PADI Regional Team to experience these in a local swimming pool.

Rayong Pinnacles Trip on 18th January 2014
Thailand is well known for the tourist dive destinations but little is known about the dive sites off the tourist map. Join Mermaids Dive Center to explore the stunning Pinnacles one hour off shore from the beautiful Lae Mae Phim.
The two underwater rock pinnacles boasting amazing corals and marine life are a natural rock structure covered in soft and hard corals with swim through ledges and crevices begging to be explored.
The larger of the Pinnacles is 30m maximum depth and the smaller is approximately 22m. Both start just a few meters beneath the surface and are dived best by circumnavigation over the course of the dives.
Trip schedule:
- 7.00am Meet at Mermaids Dive Center, Jomtien for equipment fittings
- 7.30am Depart Mermaids, Jomtien to Laem Mae Phim
- 9.00am Arrive at the Mae Phim Pier and board the King Olav
- 10.30am First dive on the larger of the pinnacles
- 12.30am Second dive on the larger of the pinnacles
- 1.30pm Lunch on board
- 3.00pm Dive on the smaller of the pinnacles
- 5.00pm Arrive back at pier and depart to Mermaids, Jomtien
- 6.30-7.00pm Arrive back at Mermaids Dive Center, Jomtien
Price:
- 1,900 baht per person with their own equipment
- 2,200 baht per person using Mermaids equipment
Included in the price:
- Transport from Mermaids, Jomtien Center (if driving by yourself, Google maps and GPS coordinates are 12.628948,101.497694)
- 3 dives over the day (air tanks only – nitrox is not available)
- Hot cooked lunch
- Mermaids Dive Support team to assist divers
- Lots of fun!

As this is a very popular trip, payments must reach us by 10th January 2013 to secure your place.
All timings and dive sites are subject to change according to weather conditions.
